PG Diploma Program Critique

Undoubtedly, the Teaching Diploma is an essential requirement for all teachers, not graduates, in the field of education. Therefore, it was my pleasure to join ADU to obtain my TD.

The courses offered by the university are very beneficial and needed to improve and shape teachers from different specialties backgrounds.

At the end of this beautiful journey, I would like to reflect on some points that I think are important to consider in the future.

  • My biggest challenge throughout the teaching diploma was the written projects “Article reviews” As I graduated 12 years ago, returning to university was a challenge in many ways specially as a working mom.
  • I enjoyed “Special Education and Exceptionality” course because it opened my eyes on a different type of students I never worked with and made me ready for a new challenge. This is an essential course as education is shifting to inclusion.
  • I was looking forward to the “Teaching Technology” course, the content is exciting. Still, I was expecting that this course would be delivered in an interactive way that reflects its title.
  • “Methods of teaching math”,” Classroom Managment “were my favorites. I enjoyed the interactive sessions, the group work and the well-prepared classes every week.
  • Educational Psychology we did not have enough time to cover the material as it should be due to the loss of the first 3 weeks but even though I enjoyed it.
  • I think that “School Curriculum” is the only course that didn’t add to my experience.
  • The “Practicum” is the final chapter! it was fun to be observed as a teacher applying what I learned and take comments from the professor to enhance my teaching skills. It also gave us time to pause, look back, and reflect on this journey.

Looking at this from a whole perspective, I can say I had a great experience!
